TINSUKIA: The 4th Raju Khemka Memorial Award will be conferred on three distinguished personalities of Assam, in joint collaboration by Shruti Silpi Samaj Dibrugarh and Silpipran Raju Khemka Memorial Trust Tinsukia and in active association with Ma Bharati, an NGO of Tinsukia, on August 6.
At a press meet at Tinsukia on Sunday, the secretary of Shruti Silpi Samaj, Chandan Pathak announced the name of the recipients of the Award for the year 2023. They are – Devi Prasad Bagrodia, renowned writer, social worker and tea planter; Radhaishyam Goenka, environmentalist and tree planter who contributed to the extensive green cover in Dibrugarh; and Suren Baruah of Pantola, an innovator.
The previous recipients of the award were Dr Nagen Saikia, Dr Tapan Saikia and Dr Bijoy Chandra Gogoi, Indra Konwar and Padma Das. The press meet was attended, among others, by Dr Nabajyoti Gogoi, president of Shruti Silpi Samaj, Sanjay Khaitan, president of SRKMT, and Juli Agarwal of Maa Bharati.
