Assam: 5 arrested in mob lynching incident in Morigaon district

MORIGAON: Five persons - Jogeswar Das, Ajit Das, Kamaleshwar Das, Satrasingha Das and Babuli Das-who were involved in a mob lynching incident where two thieves sustained serious injuries and one succumbed to his injury at Bar-Ahatguri under Ahatguri police outpost on Tuesday, were arrested by police.

A heated situation prevailed in Morigaon district on Tuesday after a group of agitated locals attacked five persons who allegedly stole cows from the house on one Kalia Das. The agitated mob even set the vehicles of the alleged thieves on fire and lynched them. One of them died while being taken to the hospital.
