Assam: 57th foundation day of Dhing College celebrated

Nagaon: In a joint venture, alumni association and college students' union body of Dhing College celebrated the 57th foundation day of the college with a day-long programme in the college on Wednesday. The programme was initiated with unfurling the college flag by Dr Biman Hazarika, Principal of the college, during which NCC cadets of the college displayed the guard of honour and also garlanded the statue of the founder principal of the college and noted Assamese litterateur Pradeep Saikia.

During the programme, the organizers felicitated six former general secretaries of the students' union body with college mementos. Similarly, the organizers also felicitated 10 meritorious and successful students who cleared the HS final examination this year with flying colours. Besides, the college union body also distributed monetary assistance among four poor students of the college in the first phase. The rest of the poor students of the college will be provided the monetary assistance respectively in next phases. Earlier, the NSS Unit of the college carried out a massive tree plantation drive in the college campus under the CM's Special scheme.
