Assam: 61st Raax Committee formed in Tamulpur district

GORESWAR: Goreswar Raax Mahotsav Celebration Committee will celebrate Raax Mahotsav with traditional pomp and gaiety at Goreswar weekly market at Goreswar in the Tamulpur district.

The Raax will be celebrated from November 26. For the smooth conduct of the Raax festival, a strong reception committee of 35 members was formed headed by Jayram Das as president and Suren Narzary as general secretary, in a general meeting held on Wednesday.

The general meeting was presided over by Dhananjay Basumatary and the purpose of the meeting was explained by Hemen Bhagawati. More than 100 people from all communities took part in the meeting as a symbol of social harmony along with members of student organizations of Goreswar.
