GUWAHATI: Two children and at least five other people were hurt in a vehicle accident that happened in the Barpeta, Assam on Friday morning. According to sources, the car they were riding in lost control and crashed into a marsh, hurting everyone inside.

The incident was reported from Pathsala on National Highway 27. The injured passengers were extricated from the car after the accident, and they were sent to Swahid Madan Routa Hospital in Pathsala.

According to reports, the victims were on their way from Bongaigaon to Dhekiajuli when the accident happened. Another incidence occurred on Friday morning at Baghmara in the Bajali district of Assam, where a rider was killed in a head-on collision with another bike.

Simanta Roy, a native of Bamunkata in the Simla region, has been identified as the deceased. The head-on crash also injured two additional people. They were given a critical condition admission to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, numerous passengers were hurt when a passenger bus in Assam's Sipajhar skidded off the road and fell into a pond. The event, according to the information gathered, happened on the national route 15 at Sipajhar in the Assamese Darrang region.

The passenger bus, with the license plate AS 25 AC 8699, lost control and slid into a pond at the side of the road. Although no fatalities were reported, the incident is said to have injured several passengers. A youth was killed in a serious traffic accident in Bokakhat, Assam, on Tuesday earlier this week.

Initial reports state that a pick-up truck and a truck collided head-on in the Latabari hamlet of Bokakhat subdivision in Assam's Golaghat district, close to an Indian Oil petrol station. The mishap happened on the night in between Monday and Tuesday.
