Dokmoka: 9 more persons have been arrested in relation to the alleged witch-hunting incident of Karbi Anglong in which two people belonging to the Adivasi community were killed and then set on fire. A total of 18 accused have been arrested in connection to the incident so far.

Jhansing Garh, Ramadhar Garh, Lulu Garh, Baburan Gowala, Dipak Garh, Santosh Garh, Sensing Garh and Pitrul Garh are among the arrestees.

It may be recalled that an elderly woman and a youth were killed by Dokmoka villagers after they suspected them of practicing witchcraft in Langhin Rohimapur village under Dokmoka Police Station in Assam's Karbi Anglong district.

Two local residents identified as Ramawati Halua (60) and Bijoy Gour (26) were brutally attacked by the villagers on the intervening night of September 30 after a quack exhibited that the duo was casting evil spells causing illness and unnatural death in the village.
