GUWAHATI: Up to 900 sacks of gutka were found on Wednesday in Assam. The GST council reportedly took the 900 gutka sacks from Changsari and Baihata Chariali. Without a challan, the accused tried to hide the gutka in a truck. The truck's driver and one peddler were able to flee the scene in the meanwhile. Two drug dealers were detained by Guwahati city police last night, and they had a significant quantity of illicit heroin taken from them.

On the basis of information from a reliable source, Chandmari police detained Mantu Rahman, a peddler who was out and about distributing drugs in his scooter with the registration number "AS 01 EA 4306." Police searched the scooter's luggage compartment and found 2 sachets of heroin there.

Later, when police conducted a raid on his Ganesh Nagar home, they found two further packets and 60 heroin bottles. Police added that his brother Mintu Rahman was also discovered to be involved and was detained. It is estimated that the seized drugs weigh about 55 grammes in total.

A case has been filed against the pair under the NDPS Act in the interim. Two drug dealers were detained by Guwahati city police earlier on Tuesday night, and a substantial amount of illegal heroin was seized from their possession.

The Chandmari police caught Mantu Rahman, a drug distributor who was out and about selling drugs in his scooter with the registration number "AS 01 EA 4306," after receiving information from a credible source. Two packets of heroin were discovered by police after searching the scooter's baggage area.
