Assam Agitation leader Pranobjit Chalia alias Romuda critically ill

Veteran social activist, a leader of the Assam Agitation and a torch bearer of Assamese nationalism, Pranobjit Chalia alias Romuda has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sivasagar Civil Hospital.

GAURISAGAR: Veteran social activist, a leader of the Assam Agitation and a torch bearer of Assamese nationalism, Pranobjit Chalia alias Romuda has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sivasagar Civil Hospital.

He is undergoing treatment for chronic pulmonary obstructions. Rakajyoti Chaliha, wife of Pranobjit Chaliha, told the media that he had to be admitted to the ICU as had severe fever and his oxygen level dropped a couple of days back. Dr Makhan Kalita, Superintendent of the hospital, informed that his condition was stable now but it would take a few more days before he could be taken back home.
