Tinsukia: As a laudable initiative, an alumnus of a LP school renovated the dilapidated school at his own cost and handed it over to the school authority at a solemn programme on Thursday in presence of local leading citizens and SSA officials.

The new school building of 3 No. Holowtup LP School of Pub Barekurimandal under Hapjan education block in Tinsukia district was formally inaugurated in a public meeting with noted educationist and former headmaster of Borhapjan High School, Bhadra Baruah in the chair. The meeting recorded its appreciation to Prasanta Gohain, an alumnus of the school and small tea grower, who renovated the school. Among those present in the programme were SSA Tinsukia district programme officers, namely Tridib Sarma Tamuli and Dipak Borgohain, retired teachers Enem Dhan, Baidyanath Sonowal, members of school management, members of Matri unit, besides other dignitaries.
