KALAIGAON: An animal health camp-cum-vaccination awareness programme on Lumpy skin disease, Classical Swine Fever and Japanese Encephalitis disease was organized by the State Veterinary Dispensary, Kalaigaon at village Hirapara under Kalaigaon Revenue Circle to extend a helping hand to the livestock farmers.
The State Veterinary Dispensary gave the Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) vaccination to more than 3,500 animals in various places of Kalaigaon. According to the veterinary officer, Dr Prafiulla Konwar, Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) is a pox-like viral disease and it is affecting the cattle. So, the veterinary department is taking measures to prevent this disease.
Dr Konwar also said that they had administered more than 113 dosages of classical swine fever vaccine at Hirapara to prevent the fatal disease of pigs there. The officials of the veterinary department also discussed Japanese Encephalitis disease in this awareness camp.
