A new executive committee of the Arm Wrestling Association of Assam was constituted recently.
In a press release, the Association's general secretary Pran Pratim Chaliha said that the annual conference of the Association was held on September 6 at its permanent office in Silpukhuri, Guwahati.
Dilip Bora, the Association's outgoing president presided over the meeting. In the meeting, a new 11-member executive committee of the Association with senior police officer Partha Sarathi Mahanta as its president was formed. Dr. Navajyoti Bora has been given charge of the committee's executive president and ace arm wrestler Pran Pratim Chaliha would serve as it general secretary. Ramendra Kumar Chamuah has entrusted the charge of Treasurer.
The new committee resolved to work for the propagation of arm wrestling sports among the youths in the state. The committee also passed a resolution to organize a North-east India level prize money arm wrestling competition later part of this year.
