GUWAHATI: In Tezpur, Assam, an Army officer has been detained on suspicion of being connected to a murder case.
The army officer who got arrested for alleged link with the matter has been identified as Lt. Colonel Amrindar Singh Walia. Amrindar Singh was taken into custody from the Tezpur Army Battalion's 4th Corps Headquarters.
Along with the Tezpur Police, the Changsari Police detained the officer during a joint investigation process. It should be noted that on February 15, the body of a woman was found in Changsari, Kamrup. The woman was dumped by the culprits after a well planned murder.
The deceased person's body was discarded close to Interstate 31.
Since then, search activities have been conducted by the Changsari Police in an effort to find individuals responsible for the murder. As per source, the officer had some sort of love angle with the deceased woman.
Too many horrifying incidents has been reported from the state of Assam in the past few days. Adding one more to the series of such episodes, on Tuesday, police arrested a man who was carrying a severed head of an individual in a bag.
The matter has been reported from Assam’s Jorhat district, and Lahdoigarh police team made the arrest. As per the preliminary reports, the episode occurred in Teok’s Baghmora area, which is located in Jorhat, on 21st of February, Tuesday.
The apprehended man has been identified as Lohit Gogoi. On the grounds of suspicion, police asked him to open the bag where they found a severed head. Police suspected that Lohit had killed somebody and was carrying the severed head inside a school back. However, the cops has not yet released any statement regarding the matter, as they are still extracting out the identity of the victim and find out the rest of the body parts.
A case has been registered and cops have begun their investigation process. They are currently finding out the exact cause of the murder and motive behind such a merciless crime.
