On February 6, Assam Police conducted an operation to break an interstate liquor smuggling organization and discovered a sizable shipment of illegal alcohol made in Arunachal. The total value of the seizures, according to officials, was just under 40 lakhs.

According to early reports, local police in Assam's Sonitpur district and Behali district conducted an operation against illegal spirits smuggling during which the consignment was captured. In addition, two additional people were held by police in relation to the seizure.

Officials reported that a truck with a Manipur registration had been stopped and that after a check, illegal alcohol had been discovered and taken into custody. The truck was registered with the license plate "MN 03 T1 1401."

The truck allegedly ignored their requests to stop and attempted to leave the area after they asked it to do so, according to the police. After a protracted pursuit, the truck was finally stopped by police at Boginadi in Lakhimpur, Assam.

The truck driver and the co-pilot were detained by the authorities in the meanwhile on suspicion of smuggling. Leu Singh was identified as the driver, and Dinku Singh as the co-pilot.

Notably, the Rangapara Excise Department carried out raids throughout Chariduar. The raids targeted Arunachal Pradesh-bound illegal wine shipments.
