Assam: Assam CM to Inaugurate Vellore's Assam Bhawan on September 26

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to inaugurate the newly constructed Assam Bhawan in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on September 26. This exciting announcement was made by cabinet minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass, who expressed his honor in being part of this momentous occasion through a social media post.

Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass shared the news on X, stating, "On September 26th, the Honorable Chief Minister Dr. @himantabiswa will grace the official inauguration of the newly constructed 'Assam Bhawan' in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, where I shall be honored to be part of this momentous occasion."

He further added, "In this regard, I've arrived in Chennai after paying tributes to Swahid Madan Barman and Swahid Rautaram Koch on their Smriti Divas at Patacharkuchi."

This inauguration follows the foundation stone-laying ceremony conducted by CM Sarma in April for the new Assam House at Dwarka in New Delhi. During that event, the chief minister announced plans to renovate the existing Assam Bhawans in Kolkata and New Delhi, signifying the government's commitment to enhancing facilities for Assam residents and visitors in the national capital.

Notably, Assam's expansion in South India does not stop at Vellore. There are plans for another Assam Bhawan to be established in the bustling city of Bengaluru in Karnataka, further strengthening the state's presence and connections in the southern part of the country.
