TINSUKIA: As a part of fortnight-long National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) commencing from October 30, an awareness talk on Leprosy and skin screening camp was held at Senairam HS School and Sarbojonin Balika HS School on Wednesday and Thursday. Organised by the Tinsukia district committee of NLEP, as many as 900 students were screened in two educational institutions. Dr Bornali Dutta Borah SDMHO (Hq)-cum-District Nodal Officer said Tinsukia being a high endemic district, both campaigning and screening would be extensive across the district. As early detection and treatment is the key factor to make the society free from leprosy, Dr Borah appealed all sections of the society to join in the campaign without any prejudice to make the programme a grand success in Tinsukia district.
