Assam: Bandana Performs Puja In The Same House After Killing Husband

GUWAHATI: Police has informed that Bandana Kalita, the killer wife who murdered both her husband and mother in law performed puja in the same residence where she committed the heinous crime. 

Bandana had arranged a Satyanarayan Puja in the room she killed her own husband, and also invited her parents for the same. The episode took place on October, after two months of murdering the duo. Later, Bandana was seen walking and breathing around fresh air like a normal person. She had also renovated her house after the incident.

Police also found that Bandana visited several holy places and posted religious quotes and pictures on her social media account. While informing deets about the incident, Diganta Borah, the police commissioner of Guwahati, stated that Bandana with the help of Arup strangled Shankari with a pillow and later hit her head with a rolling pin. Bandana killed her mother in law on 27th of July, 2022, and disposed her chopped body pieces in Meghalaya.

Amarjyoti, husband of the murderer was killed on 17th of August, 2022. Police on Monday during a press conference mentioned the use of knives, rollers and iron rods in both the cases. The chopped pieces of Amarjyoti was dumped in the Dawki road.

Police also mentioned that the chopped pieces were not kept inside the fridge, as was suspected earlier. The exact cause of matter is yet to be ascertained, however, police finds out that Amarjyoti was a drug addict and also had links with several females which gave rise to fights amongst the couple.

Furthermore, police also discovers that he shared a not-so-cordial relationship with his mother, Shankari. Nevertheless, Bandana’s father Kamini Kalita has appealed the concerned department to shoot his daughter if she is really involved in such a nasty act.

The case is somewhat similar to the Shraddha murder case in Delhi, where a lover killed his own live in partner and chopped her into pieces. Bandana’s case is one of the most cruelest of all incidents that took place in Assam’s Guwahati city till date.
