KHERONI: The Bharatiya Janata Party has begun the preparations for the upcoming general elections.
Several key members of the Bharatiya Janata Party including the chief executive member of the Karbi Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ranghang, Member of Parliament Horen Sing Bey and deputy speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Numal Momin. Several other executive members of the council also attended the event.
Recently a meeting was organised in Dokmoka wherein the cornerstone was laid for the Langkam Teron auditorium. A water supply project created with the expenditure of Rs 14 Cr was also inaugurated by the chief executive member Tuliram Ranghang. He also mentioned that the meeting with the theme of ‘Unity, Victory and Prosperity’ will be organised in the 26 constituencies of the council in the coming days.
As the political dynamics have warmed up ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2024, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has been making inroads in the grassroots level of the Bodo belt which is evident from the massive foot rallies and joining in events of the party under the leadership of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) supremo Hagrama Mohillary. In a massive joining in an event hosted by Mwdaibari Block Committee BPF in Kalaigaon of Udalguri district more than 2,000 citizens from other parties unanimously joined in Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) in the presence of BPF President Hagrama Mohilary.
Former AASU activist and youth face Bichitra Baruah also joined the party where BPF president Hagrama Mohilary welcomed him. Talking to media persons, Bichitra Baruah said that he have joined the party as he have been inspired by the ideology of BPF which believes in equal development of every community.
Talking to media persons, BPF president Hagrama Mohilary said, “The people of the region are dismayed with the ruling dispensation of BTC and people in large numbers from other political affiliations are joining the party.” He further said that the party will field candidates in Kokrajhar and Udalguri-Darrang Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls independently. “There is a significant political shift in the region and people are joining in huge numbers in BPF from other parties,” said BPF leader Jagdish Sarkar. The event was also attended by Former Cabinet Minister and former Udalguri MLA, Rihon Daimari; Former BTC Executive Member, Jagadish Sarkar; Kalaigaon MLA,Durga Das Boro among others.
