Guwahati: In a tragic incident, two bike-borne miscreants looted a man in broad daylight on July 30 in Nalbari, Assam. The incident occurred near the Bardhantali area of the district.
The incident reportedly unravelled when Hasir Ali, a school teacher by profession withdrew cash of Rs. 2,00,000 from his SBI bank account and he was soon attacked by two men on a motorcycle who attempted to snatch his bag.
The whole incident got recorded on CCTV camera footage. In the video clip, Ali was seen getting dragged as he tried to stop the robbery.
The miscreants eventually managed to pull off this robbery by getting past the spot with the bag containing the cash.
It is to be noted that Hasir Ali had withdrawn the money for a loan-related purpose. An FIR has been filed at the Nalbari Police Station.
The police had started the search operation to nab the robbers. Further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, two members of an interstate gang of Mewat-based robbers involved in robbing ATMs were arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police after a brief encounter in the national capital, an official said on July 31.
Dy. Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), Jasmeet Singh said a team of Special Cell was working on a gang of Mewat-based hardened criminals indulging in uprooting and breaking ATMs.
"There was information in the Southern Range about the movements and criminal activities of the members of the above syndicate in the area of South Delhi for some time. The information was further developed discreetly by deputing the sources and collecting requisite intelligence in this regard," the DCP said.
