BISWANATH CHARIALI: In the context of providing quality healthcare services, it was proposed to carry out an assessment named Swasthya Sewa Utsav (SSU) of all the public health facilities in the state. After the successful implementation of Swasthya Sewa Utsav (SSU) Phase-I held in April 2023, the Phase-II of Swasthya Sewa Utsav is scheduled from November 20 to 22, 2023, across the state in a phased manner. Swasthya Sewa Utsav is proposed to carry out assessments of all the public health institutions, excluding medical colleges, sub-centers, and health and wellness centres (HWCs).

In the Biswanath district, a total of 31 health facilities, comprising two sub-divisional hospitals, three model hospitals (CHC), and 26 primary health centres (PHC), will be assessed jointly by a team of doctors deputed from the Tezpur Medical College and Hospital, 18 administrative officers in the ranks of ACS and ALRS, and senior officials from other line departments. In addition, five senior administrative officers have also been deputed to the Biswanath district as external evaluators from Guwahati.
