The AAP candidate Dhiraj Kumar Singh won from ward no 11 in Tinsukia while Udita Das won from Ward no 14 in Lakhimpur.

The voters also didn't let BJP down as the saffron party swept majority of the Municipal boards across the state.

The BJP had fielded 825 candidates, while the Congress fielded 706 candidates and the AJP nominated 243 candidates.

As many as 70 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the Assam Municipal Election 2022 on Sunday, which ended peacefully. Fortunately, no untoward incident was reported, and no request for re-poll from any part of the state has been received.
