Assam: Blood donation camp to be held in Mangaldai Civil Hospital

MANGALDAI: Mangaldai chapter of the Akhil Bharatiya Marowari Mahila Sammelan, Assam Pradesh in association with Mangaldai Blood Centre under Mangaldai Civil Hospital on Saturday organized a blood donation and awareness camp on the eve of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on October 1 and the ongoing campaign of ‘seva pakhwada’ under Ayushman Bharat Mission. Several female members of the Sammelan and their relatives and friends including Sunita Choudhury, Sarita Patowary, Pankaj Agarwal, Kamlesh Agarwal, Amrit Baruah, Srikanta Deka, Amrit Mandal, Lakhidhar Baruah and others donated blood.

Earlier, an awareness meeting was held with Tanuja Patowary, president of Mangaldai chapter of the Sammelan in chair addressed by Nirmali Devi Sarma, chairperson of Mangaldai Municipality Board as the chief guest. Dr Daud Ali, medical in charge of the Blood Center, Hospital Administrator Chayanika Deka , NGO activist Kailash Patowary and journalist Mayukh Goswami also spoke on the significance and importance of voluntary blood donation and its awareness especially among the women community.
