KOKRAJHAR: The Summary and Analysis Report of the 100 days 150 targets programme of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) was released by the chief of BTC Pramod Boro and Chief Executive Officer of the World Resource Institute (WRI), New Delhi- Madhav Pai in the Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar recently on the sidelines of an MoU signing ceremony between the BTC authority and WRI for establishing a new paradigm of urban sustainable development in five districts of BTC.

The 100 days 150 targets programme of BTR is related to the implementation of specific development targets aligning them to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals -2030 (UN SDGs-2030) frameworks. In line with the focus of the government of BTC to integrate the relevant development activities to the SDGs- 2030, forty-two departments of BTC implemented their respective targets leading to a cumulative completion rate of 57.3%. Out of the 150 allotted targets, 86 were completed, 60 are in progress while 4 targets were discarded due to technical difficulties.

While releasing the report, the CEM of BTC Pramod Boro mentioned that the remaining 47% of the targets were being implemented with the support of central and state agencies and are expected to be completed shortly. He mentioned that the 100 days 150 targets programme was conceived with the twin objective of fasttrack priority development areas as well as alignment with the SDG goals. He also mentioned that the programme was implemented through a comprehensive framework which helped in increasing the capacity of the departments, engaging expertise in multiple sectors while also encouraging collaboration within the various departments. He outlined the fact that despite being a sixth schedule council with limited financial and human resources, the Government of BTC was committed to enhancing the scope of sustainable development with the support of the centre and the state with the Antyodaya approach of Leaving No One Behind (LNOB). The 100 days 150 programme in BTC was launched last year by the Education Minister of Assam Ranuj Pegu.

Analysis of the report pointed out the success of eight departments which completed 100% of the targets assigned. These departments include major departments like Education, Agriculture, Sericulture, Women & Child Development, and Flagship Missions of BTR like Bodoland Sericulture Mission. Four other departments including Forest and Environment and Water Resources completed more than 75% of the allotted targets and 23 others have completed more than 50% of the targets. The findings of the report also outlined the need for viability gap funding from different funding agencies to boost activities in the handloom and sericulture sector which is a major source of subsistence, especially for the women folk of BTC. Certain achievements of the programmes highlighted by the report were mapping the fish and fish seed potential in BTC tagging 75% population of livestock and registering them in the database.
