Assam: Bongaigaon Refinery organizes health camp
BONGAIGAON: Bongaigaon Refinery Hospital organized a health awareness camp at Dakshin Hatipota village on August 14 to mark the 77th Independence Day celebration.
A total of 400 villagers availed free health check-up and medicines were distributed among them. The camp was formally inaugurated by Dr Diganta Kumar Das, GM (H, S&E-Medical) in the presence of eye specialist Dr Dhriti Talukdar, Dr Chinmoy Dutta, SMO, Dr Vinay Chahal, SMO, Dr Manoj Boro and Dr Dwimulu Narzary.
While addressing the gathering, Dr Diganta Kumar Das, GM (H, S&E-Medical) spoke in detail about Pink Eye infection or Conjunctivitis which is common and highly contagious and can be caused by bacteria and viruses. Dr Das advised people to wash hands with soap and help young children do the same. Avoid touching or rubbing eyes and sharing personal items such as eye glasses, bedding etc. Dr Das deliberated in detail the importance of collective efforts in combating the problem.
