TINSUKIA: The Zone 1 of Assam Branch Indian Tea Association (ABITA), on the occasion on the 4th Shramik Kalyan Divas 2020 that was held on Monday at Doomdooma Town Field, organized an exhibition that showcased its activities initiated for the welfare of garden communities. The ABITA was earlier requested by the Labour Welfare Department of Government of Assam to create mass awareness programme for holistic improvement of garden communities under its jurisdiction. In a press release, the ABITA stated that the exhibition depicted 'Take Home Self-learning Materials' for school children which would be distributed among school-going children, model of hand washing unit installed in tea garden LP Schools, training modules of kitchen garden, vermicompost chamber and vermi-products, kitchen garden products, ORS Corner, First Aid Box, COVID Response Protective Gear, re-useable products developed from waste materials by adolescents members, ABITA GKUP products and a photo gallery of welfare activities implemented in ABITA gardens which are beyond PLA, the release stated, adding that the visitors at the stall were also briefed on the displayed articles.
