Assam: BTC chief Pramod Boro inaugurates office building of PWD Executive Engineer

The CEM of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Pramod Boro on Wednesday ceremonially inaugurated the new office building of the Executive Engineer of PWD (Building) at Fakiragram in the Kokrajhar district, in the presence of higher officials of the department. The three-storey new office building was built at a cost of Rs. 3.19 crore from the SOPD fund, BTC.

KOKRAJHAR:  The CEM of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Pramod Boro on Wednesday ceremonially inaugurated the new office building of the Executive Engineer of PWD (Building) at Fakiragram in the Kokrajhar district, in the presence of higher officials of the department. The three-storey new office building was built at a cost of Rs. 3.19 crore from the SOPD fund, BTC.

Talking to reporters, Pramod Boro said the new office building will help the department to carry out the developmental works in a smooth manner. He said the opposition had been raising questions on the development activities of the present BTC government and misleading the public saying that there was no visible development in the region. He said the opposition party will be trying to malign the image of the UPPL-led coalition government with false allegations. He said the present council government had built a permanent pavilion at SAI Stadium to host big football events which was not done in the last 17 years. He also said there would be stadiums in the name of the first Bodoland movement martyr, Sujit Narzary in every constituency and mini stadiums in every sub-divisional headquarter.

“Our government has been giving maximum stress on producing civil servants and free coaching camp is being given in New Delhi,” he said, adding that education was being given maximum priority.

On the encroachment in reserve forest land, he said the opposition was instigating the illegal encroachers in reserve forests. He said the protection of the lives and properties of the people was important and at the same time the protection of reserve forests and wildlife was also equally important. He said that forests and wildlife should be protected and everyone should stay away from doing politics over this issue. He also said the BTC government would provide alternative livelihood to the landless evicted people and there was no question of the indigenous people being wiped out.
