GUWAHATI: In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the mysterious death of Assam Police sub-inspector (SI) Junmoni Rabha, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Superintendent of Police (SP) Leena Doley, a figure of controversy, for questioning. This move underscores the gravity of the case, which has garnered significant attention and scrutiny.

The CBI's investigation has been multifaceted, with its latest focus on SP Leena Doley, who is currently posted in Hailakandi. She has been asked to appear before the premier investigative agency at the Nagaon location for questioning. Alongside SP Doley, several other high-ranking officials from the police department are also expected to face inquiries today.

The investigative process took an intriguing turn last week when a five-member CBI team conducted operations in Jakhalabandha and made a pivotal discovery. They recovered a mobile phone from the wreckage of Junmoni Rabha's S-Presso car, which had been severely damaged in the accident that led to her tragic demise. This mobile phone could potentially contain crucial evidence shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Continuing their meticulous examination of the case, CBI agents returned to Jakhalabandha the following day. They conducted various tests on the damaged parts of the vehicle involved in the fatal accident. The S-Presso car, which belonged to the deceased police officer, is currently stored at the Jakhalabandha police station premises.

Further enhancing their investigation's scope, the CBI seized the Engine Control Module (ECM) from the S-Presso car. This component is of particular interest as it may provide data regarding the car's speed at the time of the incident. Such information could be pivotal in reconstructing the events leading to the tragic outcome.

Reports have also suggested that the CBI has summoned multiple police officers to Nagaon for questioning as part of their inquiry into this complex case. Among those summoned is the additional superintendent of police (ASP) of Lakhimpur, Runa Neog, who arrived in Nagaon earlier, according to emerging reports.

The mysterious death of SI Junmoni Rabha has gripped the region, prompting heightened scrutiny from the CBI. With the summoning of SP Leena Doley and the extensive examination of critical evidence, it appears that the investigative agency is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to uncover the truth behind this tragedy. As the investigation unfolds, it is anticipated that more revelations will emerge, potentially shedding light on the circumstances and events leading up to Junmoni Rabha's untimely demise.
