Guwahati: Along with the other parts of Assam the holy festival of Christmas was celebrated in a grand way amid the ongoing
covid 19 pandemics by abiding all Covid 19 protocol.
While
in many places Christmas is being celebrated virtually due to the novel
corona-virus pandemic, places like Kokrajhar, Morigaon, Digboi is celebrating
the festival physically abiding by all Covid protocol. Prayers are being
offered in the churches and people are seen wearing masks, maintaining social
distance. All churches have been decked up with flowers and lights and also
sanitized.
Celebrations in Morigaon and Digboi is on. People were rehearsing choirs on
Thursday (December 24) for Today's celebration.
While in Kokrajhar the
people of the Christian community are celebrating the holy festival at the
Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church.

Brahma extends Christmas, New Year greetings to everyone on the occasion of the
holy festival.
After
attending Christmas prayers speaking about Christmas celebrations the minister
said that like every year, this year too prayers were offered for the
well-being of everyone. She said that Lord Jesus would shower his blessings on
all and hoped that everyone would live in peace and harmony.
Prime
Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, Assam Chief Minister
Sarbananda Sonowal, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma, Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema
Khandu, Manipur CM N Biren Singh too took to Twitter and extends their wishes
on Christmas.
The mood is festive and upbeat. Christmas celebrations are on across the state while following Covid protocol. People are singing, dancing to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus.
The pandemic has failed to dampen the spirits of devotees. With friends and family members, they prepare to celebrate the festival while avoiding any public gathering.
