DIBRUGARH: Fateha-e-Yazdaham, the birth and death anniversary of prophet Hazarat Mohammad (peace be upon Him) will be celebrated here on October 7 and October 8 at the local Iddgah Maidan.
The celebration committee was formed at a meeting attended by several members of Maszid Zamats scattered in the greater Dibrugarh town. The meeting presided over by noted educationist and social worker Alhaz Saheer Ahmed, unanimously elected Sadar Kaji Alhaz Ainan Zuberi as president and Haidor Ali and Atiqur Rahman as joint secretaries. After threadbare discussion on different aspects of the celebration, it was decided that on October 7 after unfurling of celebration flag, a seminar will be held which will be followed by various competitions like Nate Rasul, quiz competitions, recitation of Quran and essay competition among the children drawn from different Zamats.The second day celebration will be marked by public meeting and religious congregation in the evening which is likely to be attended by distinguished religious personalities of the State.
The meeting further unanimously elected Imran Ahmed as the editor of the souvenir which is to be publlished on the occasion. Newly-elected president Sadar Kaji has appealed to all Zamats of greater Dibrugarh town to take part in the celebration and help to make it a success.
