Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) Urges Tea Labourers to Stage Protest

Dibrugarh: Members of Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS), through a recent press release, expressed their acute displeasure over the fact that the daily wage tea garden labourers of the State had not received their interim arrears before Kali Puja as demanded by the organization.

This lack of interest among the tea estate owners had caused a strong sense of resentment among the labourers, the release mentioned. Moreover, despite the demand of the organization to renew the salary agreement of the sub-employees of the tea estates after the same got expired on September 30, 2018 measures were yet to be implemented to put it into effect.

Through the press release, the members of ACMS demanded immediate measures to be taken to deliver on the unmet demands, and also urged all the tea garden labourers of the Brahmaputra Valley to stage a sit-in for an hour in front of the offices of the respective tea estates they worked for on November 26 before starting their daily work.
