Assam Chief Secretary reviews status of revenue collection in Tezpur

TEZPUR: Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam and chairman, APDCL/ APGCL/ AEGCL, Jishnu Baruah, on Wednesday reviewed the status of revenue collection under Tezpur Electrical Circle at a meeting held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Tezpur.

Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das, Debajyoti Das, CGM (COM), Putul Ch.Bhagabati, GM (COM), Reza Mahmud, DGM (System), Devajit Phatowaly, AGM (IT) and other officials of Tezpur Electrical Circle along with SDEs of various electrical subdivisions were present in the meeting.

The Chief Secretary reviewed the individual performance of all electrical subdivisions under Tezpur Electrical Circle on parameters such as billing efficiency, collection efficiency, ESD wise and arrear status, and asked all SDEs to work efficiently in order to improve collection. He also directed the GM to follow up the progress of all ESDs reviewed in Tuesday's meeting. The chairman of APDCL asked the SDEs to check for any arrears and promptly carry out disconnections of defaulters so as to encourage people to pay their electricity bills on time.
