GUWAHATI: In an act of disgrace, a disabled lady passenger at the Guwahati Airport of Assam was allegedly strip checked by a woman constable deployed at the CISF security checking at the airport.

The incident took place on Thursday 24 March in the CISF security check at the Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport located in Borjhar of Guwahati.

The office reviewed the incident and in taking action over the matter, the woman constable was suspended by the CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) officials for misbehaving and forcing the elderly lady to undress.

According to reports, the 80-year-old wheel-chaired bound woman passenger was travelling with her grandchild and they were on their way to the national capital Delhi.

The elderly woman identified as Mhalo Kikon had her hip replacement surgery in the previous year and was scheduled to visit Delhi from Guwahati. She and her grandchild had their booking for Delhi on GoAir Flight.

Later, Dolly Kikon the daughter of the elderly lady passenger took to her Twitter handle to complain about the matter where she explained the incident.

Kikon wrote that her 80-year-old disabled mother was made to strip at the CISF security check at Guwahati Airport.

She further wrote that the security personnel wanted proof of the titanium hip implant of her mother and forced her to undress. In her tweet, Kikon tagged the Chief Minister of Assam and Guwahati Airport.

Meanwhile, CSIF personnel has started an investigation over the unfortunate incident and informed that the concerned woman constable has been suspended.

The force also took to Twitter and wrote that the security and dignity of needy pax go hand in hand. It stated that the CISF Deputy Inspector of Police (DIG) has contacted the lady passenger.

In the tweet, the CISF tagged the passenger's daughter Dolly Kikon who brought the matter to light and complaint about the incident.
