DHUBRI: A civic action programme was organized recently by 49 Bn BSF under Sector BSF, Dhubri at Salapara border village of South Salmara-Mancachar district.

The civic action programme was jointly inaugurated by Sh Sanjiv Joshi Commandant of Sector Headquarter, Dhubri, Dr Rohit, CMO (SG), Sector Headquarter Dhubri, Jeetendra Gupta, Commandant, 45 Bn BSF in presence of Hojen Tokbi SP SSM, Ripun Jyoti Nath, ADC SSM, Farooq Shaikh ASP SSM, staff officers Coy Cdr. president of Gaon Panchayat Salapara, Hathi char, M M Char, Gaon Panchayat Members, school teachers, students and other prominent personalities of surrounding villages were present in the programme.

A total of 25 items which included school stationery items like geometry boxes and other educational materials, minor agricultural tools like spades, sickles, machetes etc. were distributed.

Sanjiv Joshi, Commandant of Sector Headquarter Dhubri and Jeetendra Gupta Commandant of 49 Bn BSF in their speech reminded local people that BSF is committed to provide all kind of assistance for their well being and assured them that BSF will conduct this type of programmes in future as per requirement of border villages.

Ripun Jyoti Nath, ADC SSM and Horjen Tokbi SP SSM also expressed similar views while addressing to the locals in local dialect. Local villagers who attended the programme expressed happiness and gratitude for the humanitarian gesture shown by BSF.
