GUWAHATI: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday took part in a series of events such as laying the foundation stone for various new projects, inauguration of completed ones in Nalbari District and took part in the first ever 'Jal Jeevan Sanmilon'. CM Sarma also inaugurated 467.24 meter long "Two-lane Flyover" over the Nalbari-Dhamdhama road, funded under the Central Road Fund category for the year 2016-17 with a whopping amount of 47.05 crore.
On the other hand, Himanta Biswa Sarma also flagged off ASTC local city bus service for seamless connectivity for all. The newly introduced bus routes will efficiently link Nalbari Town to Nalbari Medical College, as well as Mukalmua to Nalbari Medical College and Ghagrapar. CM Sarma also attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Office of BJP, Nalbari District.
He also laid foundation stone of 1,000 seated Nalbari Town Hall. the construction of this magnificent hall is undertaken by the Housing and Urban Affairs Department of the Government of Assam, at the Gurdon High School Playground in Nalbari. Once this project reaches fruition, it will fulfil a longstanding aspiration of the residents of Nalbari.
Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sarma also took part in the first ever Jal Jeevan Sanmilan of India in a grand manner at Nalbari on Monday. This event aims to generate widespread awareness about water among the rural communities and intends to ensure that the beneficiaries take full responsibility of the schemes for its full lifetime of 30 years. Assam has already made remarkable progress by achieving 50% of its Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) target.
He also laid foundation stone of several important road projects under "Mukhyamantrir Unnoto Pakipath Nirman Achani",
"Mukhyamantrir Pakipath Nobikaran Achani" and "Mukhyamantrir Mothayuri Pakikaran Achani" in virtual mode from a huge public gathering held at Gurdon High School Playground.
