On the other side, it took more than 15 years to complete since the foundation stone was placed by Tarun Gogoi, the then Chief Minister of Assam.
According to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam's situation has improved drastically in the last two years as a result of negotiating peace deals with various armed organizations. As a result, the Assam government was attempting to repeal the Armed Forces Special Powers Act in five further districts before the year's end.
The removal of the AFSPA from 60% of the state and the signing of peace treaties with several of the state's armed organizations have resulted in a peaceful scenario, the Chief Minister remarked at the end of his two-year tenure.
The Chief Minister further stated that the State Government has set a goal of purchasing 20 lakh quintals of paddy every year for the next five years.
To replace FCI in the procurement procedure, the State Government will purchase paddy from state farmers.
In terms of health, each medical college in the state will have B.Sc. and M.Sc. nursing programs, as well as courses in foreign languages and soft skills.
The Chief Minister also stated that the government will establish 40 new colleges and the Assam Sainik School Society, through which the state government will establish five additional Sainik schools in the state.
