BONGAIGAON: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday attended the Central Bishuwa Festival organized at Bongaigaon by the All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU). He was accompanied by minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, MLA Ajay Ray, and Kamatapur Autonomous Council chief Gokul Barman.

The four factions of the AKRSU (Khitis Ray faction, Boloram Ray faction, Atul Ray faction and Dipen Barman faction), along with other AKRSU leaders, gave a warm welcome to the Chief Minister.

Sarma conveyed his Bishuwa wishes to all the people of Assam. Talking about the Kamatapur issue he stated that only by shouting slogans on the streets would not form Kamatapur. “Unification of the whole Koch-Rajbongshi community and thinking in one progressive direction is the only key to form Kamatapur,” he said.

Sarma did not share any political views or comment during his speech. Before attending the Bishuwa festival, Sarma met with prominent citizens of Bongaigaon at Circuit House and discussed several burning issues of the district.
