GUWAHATI: A recent 'union of state' speech by Rahul Gandhi has led him to face a lot of criticism from BJP leaders mainly from the chief minister of Assam.

On Thursday 10 February Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared a tweet mentioning India's strength of union as the union of culture, languages, people, diversity and states.

In writing about the union of states he stated from Kashmir to Kerala, from Gujarat to West Bengal, India is beautiful in all its colours. He further requested not to insult the spirit of the country.

This statement by the Congress leader drew the attention of the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who reacted by slamming Gandhi as the union of states has no mention about the Northeastern states.

Gandhi ended the list on West Bengal which seems to be not acceptable by the Assam CM as in a later tweet he made it clear by writing that beyond Bengal Northeast exists.

It took no time for the chief minister to quote Gandhi's tweet and wrote that India is far beyond just a union, it is a proud nation.

In the tweet by the CM quoting Gandhi he further wrote that India cannot be held hostage to the tukde tukde (broken) philosophies by Rahul Gandhi.

In attacking the statement by Gandhi, Sarma further questioned the Congress MP about his approach to India and asked about Gandhi's problem with Nation, Nationality and Nationalism.

Giving emphasis on the matter of not mentioning Northeastern state in Gandhi's Union of states, the CM at the end of his tweet wrote 'And Hello- beyond Bengal, we northeast exist.'The chief minister slamming Gandhi criticized his union of states broken ideologies.

Gandhi's tweet on Thursday accused the BJP-led government of insulting the spirit of the country. He also spoke about India being the union of states in his parliamentary speech on the motion of thanks in Lok Sabha.
