Assam CM's Wife Shares Pictures on their 20th Marriage Anniversary, Congratulatory Messages Pour In

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma have completed 20 wonderful years of their married lives on Monday (June 7). Marking the day, Riniki Sharma posted some throwback photos of their wedding day and a photo of the CM in his younger days on her Twitter page.

She wrote, "Believe and patience which nature has given in abundance to us which is making us grow stronger every passing day as we cross our 20th year of our married lives today."

Congratulatory messages have poured in wishing the couple a happy anniversary and many more years of happiness and togetherness.

Sharing an instance from the past, Riniki Sharma on the day of the swearing in had said how CM Sarma had told her almost 22 years back that one day he would become the CM. She said, "I met him when I was 17 years old and he was 22 years old. When I asked him what should I tell my mother? What is he going to be? He said: Tell your mom that I will be the CM. At that point, I thought he is just 22 years old so he is just saying whatever he felt like. But since then we together have come a long way. When I married him he was the MLA. He has always been talking about politics. Now that he has become the Chief Minister, I am still not able to believe it."

The couple is blessed with a daughter and a son.

From student politics to the present day, Sarma has been a successful man in every quest of life. Riniki Sharma is the CMD of Pride East Entertainment Pvt Ltd, one of the leading media houses of Assam.
