GUWAHATI: Two traffic police officers are the subject of a complaint for allegedly physically assaulting employees and contractors in the Ulubari locality of the city.
Several employees and contractors alleged that two traffic police officers from the Paltan Bazar Police Station regularly physically abused them. Under the Ulubari overpass, the policemen's assault on the victims was caught on camera. The victims said that under the influence of alcohol, the police beat them up.
In a previous incident, on Wednesday, dealers in illicit alcohol beat a pregnant mother.
According to sources, the tragedy happened near Halogaon in Assam's Kamrup district. Local drug traffickers attacked the pregnant mother, who was nine months along. According to reports, the pregnant woman suffered a significant injury as a result of the incident.
She was hurried to the First Referral Unit (FRU) hospital right away. According to reports, the incident happened as a result of the pregnant woman objecting to the illegal sale of alcohol in the vicinity, which led to numerous women salespeople attacking her.
An inquiry into the incident has been started after the victim complained about it to the Sualkuchi Police Station. It is sad and unfortunate, to say the least, that a pregnant woman was attacked on International Women's Day.
At Bashistha, Guwahati, a forest officer has been charged with conspiring behind the scenes with smugglers. Sources claim that the forest inspector gave the smugglers' trucks a specific window of time in which to cross.
A hidden camera recorded the truck driver's conversation. The forest officer told the dumper driver, "I have warned everyone at 7 p.m. If you are discovered despite my alerting you, I will be left with no other option.”
The incident happened in the Bashistha, Guwahati, and East Kamrup Forest Division Authorities. The specifics of what is occurring inside the forest are still unknown. Further research is being done.
