Assam: Concern over rescued teenagers by Biswanath District Child Welfare Committee

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Three teenaged girls, each from the tea garden areas of the state, who were employed as maid servants in Arunachal Pradesh, had fled from Arunachal a few months ago and arrived at Biswanath Chariali. They were rescued by the Biswanath District Child Welfare Committee with the help of Biswanath district police. The girls identified as Gunu Munda (15), Ruhi Kumari and Sunita Karmakar have been brought up under their supervision for the last ten months. The girls no longer remember who their own family are. But the District Child Welfare Committee is now desperate to trace the parents of these three teenagers. For which the committee has appealed to the people through the media on Friday, “If anyone recognizes the three adolescent girls, then immediately inform their respective families and contact the Biswanath District Child Welfare Committee or the district administration.”
