HAFLONG: Assam Minister for Sports & Youth Welfare etc Nandita Gorlosa chaired a review meeting with the contractors of Aganwadi centres in Dima Hasao district on Friday. The minister took feedback about the works implemented in presence of the Block Development Officers of different blocks.

After the meeting Minister Gorlosa addressed the media and briefed about the issues and challenges while implementation of works in the Aganwadi centres in this district which she said was mainly due to confusion and lack of communication. She informed that the issues have been addressed with the contractors in front of the BDOs and thus there should not be any further delay in construction process of the anganwadi centres at the most necessary areas for larger benefit of the public.

As far as the completed task is concerned 11 centres have already been completed and 29 more is in the plan for Dima Hasao district. Since the schemes are under the MLA funded schemes she further ascertained that the contractors shall be implementing the work under the guidance of the DC office.

Whether the scheme is implemented from the office of the council or the DC office, the ultimate objective to benefit the people of Dima Hasao is still the same and unaffected.

Also addressing the confusions while implementation of the Phase II of the construction of Aganwadi centres, the Minister stated that the Gaon buras should fully cooperate during allotment of plot for Aganwadi centres as these centres will greatly benefit children mostly of the nearby areas.
