Assam: CRPF jawans participate in cleanliness drive in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: The 20th Raising Day of the 171st Battalion of CRPF posted in Dibrugarh will be celebrated with great pomp on August 9.

In view of the celebrations, the CRPF jawans on Thursday cleaned the Children’s Park located near the Dibrugarh District Deputy Commissioner’s Office, making the public aware about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

CRPF officers and jawans cleaned the park with dedication. The 20th foundation day of CRPF’s 171st Battalion was observed with a 9-day programme which was inaugurated on August 1 by planting trees at Mancotta Sports Ground in Dibrugarh. CRPF Dibrugarh Range DIG Rajeev Ranjan as well as 171 Battalion CO Sameer Kumar Srivastava and other officers were present as the chief guests. DIG Rajeev Ranjan said that CRPF has so far planted more than 81,000 trees.

On the other hand, on the occasion of the foundation day of 171 Battalion of CRPF, on Wednesday, CRPF jawans organized a bike rally keeping in view the objective of restoring the environment of peace and harmony among the general public. CRPF Dibrugarh Range DIG Rajeev Ranjan and 171 Battalion CO Sameer Kumar Srivastava also participated in this bike rally.
