Assam: Death of trade union leader, Anant Chandra Kalita condoled

DHUBRI: Death of trade union leader, Anant Chandra Kalita was condoled in a meeting held at Dhubri unit of Pensioners’ Association under the presidentship of JK Kundu of Dhubri SBI Pensioners’ Association on Wednesday.

Many trade union leaders of Dhubri paid floral tribute at the portrait of Kalita who breathed his last on August 27. Kalita was a trade union firebrand leader and adorned the post of general secretary of SBI Staff Association North Eastern Circle. He was the first workmen director from North Eastern Circle to SBI Central Board for two times.

Kalita was also an economist and led many trade union movements and got the demand of employees fulfilled during his time. He was a very humble and social person. His demise has created a huge void.
