GUWAHATI: In a proactive move to enhance the quality of education in Assam, Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Dr. Numal Momin, recently attended Gunotsav at Bordeka Langmili Gaon ME School in the Karbi Anglong district. Serving as an external evaluator, Dr. Momin participated in the assessment, underscoring the significance of the ongoing education evaluation initiative.

Gunotsav 2024, in its fifth phase, aims to evaluate the performance of nearly 40 lakh students across Assam. The assessment, spanning from January 3 to February 8, involves a comprehensive review of students from Class 1 to 9. The first phase initiated with a self-evaluation process in 12 districts, including Barpeta, Bajali, Hojai, Karimganj, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sibsagar, South Salmara-Mancachar, and Udalguri.

Dr. Numal Momin's visit to Bordeka Langmili Gaon ME School was not just limited to external evaluation; he actively engaged with students, contributing to the interactive aspect of Gunotsav 2024. This hands-on approach by the Deputy Speaker emphasizes the commitment of legislative authorities to the holistic development of the education sector in the state.

Simultaneously, Assam's Education Minister, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, took part in the evaluation process by visiting Jururam Pathak Girls High School in the Barpeta district. Dr. Pegu's assessment encompassed academics, teaching methods, and infrastructure, showcasing a comprehensive approach towards ensuring the overall improvement of educational standards.

With more than 3.963 million students participating in Gunotsav 2024, the initiative seeks to provide a detailed understanding of the state of education in Assam. The results of this extensive evaluation are anticipated to be unveiled on April 15, 2024. This transparent disclosure will serve as a crucial benchmark, enabling educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to strategize and implement targeted improvements in the education system.

As Assam continues its commitment to enhancing educational outcomes, the active involvement of legislative figures like Dr. Numal Momin and Dr. Ranoj Pegu underscores the collective effort towards fostering a robust and progressive learning environment for the state's students.
