BOKO: Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta along with Kamrup SP Hitesh Ch Roy visited the heritage place of Chamaria Xatra in Boko on Sunday. He spoke with the local people, the Xatradhikari and the devotees of the Xatra. He took blessings and played the instruments of the Xatra.

He said, "The people of this place have maintained this historical place elegantly. They have planned the place systematically while constructing it. I have visited the xatra in other places also but haven't seen like this Xatra. Today we have discussed about how the xatra can serve the society and it has become very important to take some necessary steps as to how the xatra can attract the youth."

Later, he visited the Nazmahira Memorial Public School in Sontoli village and laid down the foundation stone of the school library. Later, DGP Mahanta took part in a public meeting at Sontoli Anchalik Higher Secondary School field as chief guest. The meeting was presided over by the ex-principal of the school Rahmat Ullah. It is to be mentioned that Sontoli area is a riverine area of the mighty Brahmaputra river and mostly minority people live in the area.

During his speech, he requested the public to check all documents carefully while appointing a Moulabi or Hafij in the Madrasas. DGP Mahanta also said that if someone works against our nation, don't support him. He also added that people should teach their children on economics. So that they will live their live without any problem. "Islam is a symbol of peace, so everyone should live peacefully," DGP Mahanta added.
