Assam: Dhubri District Agriculture Office organized awareness on millets

DHUBRI: An awareness programme on millet foods was organized recently by Dhubri District Agriculture Office in collaboration with Sarba Siksha Abhiyan, at Agomani Girls’ ME School under Agomani Block of Dhubri district.

As this year is being celebrated as the International Year of Millets 2023, Dhubri District Agriculture Office will conduct awareness programme in 17 government and private schools under Dhubri district this month.

The first awareness programme was organized at Agomani Girls” ME School and as part of the programme, different types of millets were distributed among the students and teachers by the agriculture department, and officials spoke about its benefits to ensuring better nutrition, health and disease-free Assam through millet consumption.

The awareness programme was attended by District Nodal Officer of Assam Millet Mission, Pankaj Chandra Das, Sub Divisional Agricultural Officer, Sajal Kanti Baruah, Agricultural Development Officer, Nayanjyoti Sharma, and other officials from Sarba Siksha department.
