Assam: Distribution programme of aid to Divyangjans inaugurated

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, in collaboration with Nagaon district administration organized the district level inauguration of distribution camp for aids and assistive devices to Divyangjans under ADIP scheme, Government of India, at the auditorium of Nagaon district library here on Saturday.
Assam: Distribution programme of aid to Divyangjans inaugurated

NAGAON: The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, in collaboration with Nagaon district administration organized the district level inauguration of distribution camp for aids and assistive devices to Divyangjans under ADIP scheme, Government of India, at the auditorium of Nagaon district library here on Saturday. The State Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta attended the programme as the chief guest. While addressing the occasion, Mahanta mentioned the promise and dedication of the current government in inclusive governance and readiness to help all sections of the society including the Divyangjans.

Over 6,157 appliances will be handed over to around 3,499 beneficiaries in the district under this distribution camp programme. During today’s inaugural programme, over 7 beneficiaries among them were ceremoniously handed over the appliances by the dignitaries as well as other guests. The remaining appliances to be distributed include motorized tricycle, folding wheel chair, walking stick, hearing aid machine, rollator, etc

Nagoan MP Pradyut Bordoloi who also attended the programme as guest, emphasized on the significance of the scheme and the proactive role played by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. MLA Raha Sashikanta Das, District Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah, Chairperson of Nagaon Development Authority Dhrubajyoti Sharma were also present in the programme.
