DIBRUGARH: A Russian citizen lodged a complaint at Dibrugarh police station on Thursday for being duped of Rs 7,500 by a Dibrugarh youth. On Thursday, the Russian citizen Aleksandra Oblomii reached Dibrugarh from Guwahati by train and filed a complaint against one Ashish Sharma for being duped of Rs 7,500.

Talking to media persons in Dibrugarh on Thursday, Aleksandra said, “I came to India to visit Mayapur in West Bengal. He met Ashish Sharma at Howrah station and become a good friend and he(Ashish) invited him to visit Assam. He has taken Rs 12,500 from me and in Dispur police station he returned me Rs 5000 infront of the police and told me that he will pay the rest of the amount in Kolkata. I came to Dibrugarh because he was from Dibrugarh.” Meanwhile, Dibrugarh police have launched an investigaton into the case.
