BISWANATH CHARIALI: Acting on a tip-off, police managed to bust a gang allegedly involved in making fake currency notes and arrested five people including a woman at Biswanath Chariali on Friday night. Along with the arrest of the five accused, a fake currency note-making machine was also seized from their possession. According to information, the police team raided a night super bus after receiving information that a man was on his way to Guwahati from Lakhimpur carrying a fake currency note-making machine. Accordingly, police swung into action and detained the person.

Based on the information provided by the person, police searched a vehicle and arrested four people, including a woman. The arrested individuals were identified as Fulzar Hussain, Minara Begum, Ajay Vishwakarma, Ajit Gogoi and Babul Hussain. Police claimed that Babul Hussain was the mastermind behind this racket. Among the arrested individuals, two persons were found to be scribes of a news portal in Assam.
