LAKHIMPUR: “The main issue of the BJP-led governments is only development. On the other hand, the main objective of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government is to establish India as ‘Vishwaguru’ as one of the most developed country of the globe. To realize that dream, our party has been working relentlessly by embracing a motto that we are good Assamese, we are good Indian citizens. You have already seen that almost all the nations of the world have appreciated the Union Government, led by Narendra Modi. The schemes, which are adopted by this Union Government to established India as Vishwaguru are dedicated for the betterment and welfare of the poor section of the society.” This statement was made by Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog in Lakhimpur on Monday. She said so while addressing a mega public rally of the BJP organized at Tyag Kshetra of North Lakhimpur town.
Notably, the Finance Minister blew the poll-bugle of upcoming parliamentary election by attending the public rally which was organized covering the BJP ‘karyakartas’ and members under the newly delimited Lakhimpur LAC under the management of Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, as a part of State BJP’s initiative taken to conduct the same in every LAC after the completion of constituency delimitation process. While delivering her lecture, Ajanta Neog highlighted the successes and achievements of BJP-led governments during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She claimed that the successful conduct of G-20 summit, landing of Chandrayaan on moon were two of the recent achievements of the Union Government. She lauded the Prime Minister for his strong leadership, that could impress the globe, and appealed to the public to make him winner for the third time to lead the nation by electing parliamentarians from BJP.
Similarly, Ajanta Neog eulogized Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his ‘dynamic’ leadership and bringing drastic change to the State by ensuring all-round development. In this connection, she cited the example of providing job to 1,00,000 youths of the State, implementation of microfinance loan waiver scheme, providing health benefits, ration cards to the poor section of the society, development in road communication etc. by keeping his poll- promises. She also appreciated Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah and Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka for the implementation of ‘numerous’ developmental schemes to render all-round development in the parliamentary constituency and legislative constituency concerned within a short span of time. She appealed to the people of Lakhimpur to extend their support to Pradan Baruah in the upcoming parliamentary election and to come forward to establish Lakhimpur to be one of the five best performing districts of the State. She made a scathing attack on Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Borah by saying that Congress could not render due development, not only in the State, but across the country also, though the public had given the party mandate to rule the country for long seventy five years. She also criticised Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi for his alleged ‘nature’ of attacking the BJP and incumbent Government of Assam regarding unnecessary issues in one hand and relying upon the same government for development on the other.
