BISWANATH: A fire broke out in the Biswanath town of the state on Tuesday. Although there was no information regarding anyone being injured during the incident, the fire caused considerable damage to the residences and property within them.

The incident took place in the Sweeper Basti locality of Biswanath on Tuesday. Atleast two cooking gas cylinders had reportedly exploded as a result of this fire. This increased the intensity of the fire manifold.

The residences of Pappu Valmiki, Kishan Basfor and Sanju Balmiki were completely gutted because of this inferno. No information has been released about the cause of this fire.

Officials and personnel from the fire and emergency department arrived at the location and managed to douse the flames.

Previously, a terrifying incident was reported on National Highway 37 in Guwahati, where an LPG tanker caught fire, causing damage to the front portion of the carrier, on Sunday in Guwahati. According to sources, the incident occurred when the LPG tanker was on the way from Khanapara to Jorabat. Fortunately, in an immediate response, fire fighters reached the site and helped to douse the flames, averting a potential disaster. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of emergency response teams in mitigating such hazardous incidents.

Before that, an incident of fire took place in the area near Dighalipukhuri, triggering a scare among the sellers as well as the customers. The incident took place on Friday night, when the locality was usually filled with people. A battery used for lighting in one of the stalls reportedly caught fire. The flames spread rapidly and soon consumed the kiosk where it originated as well as two more stalls near it.

Although no one was injured in the incident, the three kiosks suffered damages, and the incident triggered panic among the people present there as people first thought that a cooking gas cylinder had caught fire. Quick action on the part of the people present in the locality prevented a major mishap in the locality as there were a large number of stalls, and almost all of them had some form of combustible substance.
